Crowds flocked to this years Wiltshire Emergency Services show held on the airfield.
No Hercules this year, but the show was visited by a Sea King search and rescue helicopter. With a much larger turn out than last year, both the Sea King and the Viking that 621 VGS displayed were popular with both the children and the adults. Our display even had some VIP visitors.
This years detachment to Portmoak acheived several 5 hours flights!
Portmoak Detachment 2006. Portmoak Airfield is home to the Scottish Gliding Union. The aim of the Air Cadet detachment is for the students to complete their AGT2 course. This year, favorable wind conditions enabled the students to make use of the ridge lift generated by Bishop Hill, seen in the background. All completed their AGT2, constisting of two 30 minute solos, and several completed 5 hour flights as well.
