Sarah acheived a Licentiateship in Youth Leadership and Training graduating at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on Friday 10th October 2008
Sarah received her award from Admiral the Lord West of Spithead GCB DSC DUniv, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Security and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation).
Successful completion of these awards recognises at least five years of professional development and managerial experience. The award from City & Guilds, through CVQO, is with internationally recognised and is the equivalent of a foundation degree or Level 4 NVQ.
Edward Woods, chief executive, CVQO praised the volunteers’ efforts saying: “As these awards are gained in their spare time it is admirable that they have found time to study whilst holding down full time employment and giving hundreds of hours of voluntary service to the nation’s youth.”
“I had to write a reflective report on my time being a B Category Gliding instructor” Sarah said, “It was split in to different areas which had to cover at least two sides of A4, the headings were managing tasks, communicating, self management and development, working with and relating to other, applying knowledge, applying initiative in work problems ,reflections on own learning outcomes and three examples where I had carried out detailed research including give self examples all the way through.”
The person who marked the report said "Mrs Sarah Summerell has submitted a very impressive and thorough report".
